Susan Dee has touched countless lives with a voice like an angel and a heart overflowing with compassion. Growing up during the turbulence of the depression, there had always been singing at her home. Friday nights in Bromwell Street in Woodstock, Cape Town, were spent accompanied by a guitar, singing praises to God for His goodness and grace. Despite facing the hardships of being forcibly removed from the beautiful slopes of Table Mountain due to a corrupted political ideology, Susan discovered that her song kept her family strong.
A devoted mother to six children - the late Roger, Theo, Faith, the late Alvin, Lynn and the late Tony whom she holds closely in her heart today, Susan laid a foundation for a meaningful life amidst raging storms. Over the years, her incredible voice has taken her on an international journey. She has traveled to the United States, Italy, and Sweden, joyfully visiting her children while simultaneously singing and ministering to several global communities of faith. In 2003, she traveled to Sweden to visit family and record her beautiful CD, "This is My Story". She officially launched it at the age of 70 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on June 30, 2007.
Today, as she approaches her 90th birthday, Susan's passion for serving others remains undiminished. She continues to cook and deliver hot, comforting meals to high-risk children and young people living on the streets in a Cape Town suburb. Her dedication to this calling proves that her greatest song is the way she lives her life.
